In a surprising collaboration that defies usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The questline centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the adventure will acquire an special katana alongside several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
